Itinerary
- Day 1
Meeting point at 8:30 am in Davos Klosters at the Jakobshorn cable car. From there we head straight into the ski area at around 9:00 am
On the first day the slopes on the Jakobshorn are on the programme. The runs down to Teufi or to the Mühle are just what a freerider loves. We take our lunch break at one of the cosy huts in the area. - Day 2
After breakfast we meet in the Rinerhorn area. Numerous descents into the Sertig valley are possible here with short ascents. There are some rewarding runs in the Rinerhorn area. Depending on the weather, we can choose the best descents and do a valley safari from the Rinerhorn to the Jakobshorn and on to Teufi, ending up back in Davos village in the evening.
- Day 3
After a hearty breakfast, the Parsenn area is on the programme. Runs towards Arosa, to the Heuberge, Totalp or Schatzalp are possible here. Depending on the weather, we choose the best descents. A special freeride treat is the round trip via the Madrisa to Gargellen and back via St. Antönien. A relaxed end to the day.
- Day 4
Last but not least, on the final day we'll seek out the couloirs on the Weissfluh. A short abseil gets us into untracked powder.
Relaxed finish, farewell and journey home at around 5 pm.
One of the best freeride areas in the Alps
Davos and Davos Klosters offer six ski areas for freeriding. Freeriders can reach a wide variety of routes here, from high-alpine to secured runs. Ride the lifts up in comfort and often stand right at the top of the run without any further climbing.
Take a deep breath and go. The first turn flows by itself, powder flies up on both sides. It feels amazing. It's like floating. That slight touch of fear before the run? Forgotten. A look back at the freshly drawn line in the deep snow. Pure happiness.
When people talk about Davos, they talk about ski areas – plural. The greater Davos area is home to a good half dozen completely independent ski regions with dream powder terrain, from the famous Weissfluh to the Rinerhorn. The generous slopes below the Jakobshorn are especially popular with freeriders. The individual ski areas are easy to reach by ski bus.
